Nearly 20 million foreign tourists have visited Iran during the past 3 years, an official says.
Iran Deputy Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for tourist affairs Morteza Rahmani-Movahed announced recently that 19.9 million toured Iran since 2014.
Rahmani-Movahed highlighted that tourism should strengthen people's life-style and not serve as a political field for short-term interests.
Iran has earned more than $32 billion from tourists upon global standards calculations.
The official added that Iran has taken an average of $1650 for each tourist who visited the country, on par with World Tourism Organization (WTO) assessments that every tourist in the region of West Asia spent $1520 to $1750.
Considering numerous beauties, deeply-rooted in history and culture, and an abundance of touristic sites, Iran seeks to acquire greater share of the global tourism industry.
